What are your kids reading? by Colby Sharp

Today is my seventh day of the school year. It is hard to believe that a couple of weeks ago I hadn’t met my students, and now I know so much about them. I’m feeling pretty confident that we are going to have an awesome year together. Every week or two, when the kids head to lunch, I ask them to leave the book they are currently reading on their desk. While they are eating and playing outside for recess, I make a little video where I talk about the books that they are currently reading. I learn a ton about my readers from these videos, and it is fun to look back at them throughout the year to see how the class as a whole has changed. Below you will find the first “books my fifth graders are reading” video of the school year.

I would love to know which books are currently popular with your readers. Please leave a comment on this post, and share with the Nerdy community the books your readers are currently reading. I cannot wait to add to my to-read list.
