The Weekend Update returns for another season on Saturday Night Live with a special visit from Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell (James Austin Johnson) and Herschel Walker (Kenan Thompson).
Weekend Update host Michael Che has brought the two “peas in a bag,” as Walker says, to discuss the 2022 midterm elections. Most importantly, the pair have come to discuss Walker’s bizarre way of speaking and if he’s a qualified candidate, to begin with.
“There’s too many to name,” says McConnell, who’s being perfectly impersonated by James Austin Johnson. “First, he plays football and Georgia loves football.”
