Nintendo loves to release limited edition versions of its consoles to celebrate big new games. And this holiday season, the biggest games that Nintendo has coming out are Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

That’s why they’ve just released a special version of the OLED Nintendo Switch, featuring a unique design that’s themed around Scarlet and Violet’s new legendary and starter Pokémon.

The Pokémon OLED Switch has a colorful dock, case, and controllers

Like other special edition consoles before it, the Pokémon Nintendo Switch has all the same features as a regular Switch, but includes exclusive new designs for the system and controllers.

The Switch’s dock is made with a glossy white plastic, and is emblazoned with illustrations of Koraidon and Miraidon, the legendary Pokémon debuting in Scarlet and Violet. On the back, you’ll find a minimalist Pokéball design.

The Switch itself, though, is anything but minimalist. The back of the Switch is covered with illustrations of Scarlet and Violet’s three starter Pokémon — Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly — alongside symbols representing characters and places from throughout the Paldea region.

Finally, you’ve got the controllers. The left Joy-Con is red, representing Pokémon Scarlet, and has the crest of the Scarlet-exclusive location Naranja Academy on the front. The right Joy-Con is purple to represent Pokémon Violet, and features that game’s Uva Academy logo.

Each part of the Switch has its own design.

Put together, the Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Switch model is both a treat for the eyes and a great tribute to the upcoming games.

It’s also an OLED Nintendo Switch, meaning that it has a larger screen with better colors than the original Switch, and a built-in Ethernet port.

The Pokémon OLED Nintendo Switch officially released on November 4, 2022. It costs $359.99, which is $10 more than a regular OLED Switch currently costs.

Nintendo is currently taking orders on their official website, as well as through the official online Pokémon store. You can also buy it from a number of third-party sellers like Walmart, Gamestop, Target, and Best Buy.

These limited edition consoles always sell out quickly, so you’ll need to be fast.

Just remember that although the Switch is Pokémon-themed, it doesn’t come with a copy of either game. You’ll need to buy Pokémon Scarlet or Violet separately once they release on November 18, 2022.
