Why has it taken this long for Alison Janney to be the lead in an action movie?
Watching the Netflix trailer above for Anna Foerster’s Lou, which sees her helping a mother (Jurnee Smollett) find her kidnapped daughter, it just seems to work so damn well.
Janney plays a grouchy loner who clearly has an unusual past, but when her neighbour comes asking for help in the dead of night it’s fair to say things…escalate.
Cue violent beat-downs, exploding lighthouses, and a rope bridge moment that would make Indiana Jones nervous.
