Miss Kitty seemed to sense that Smoochie didn’t make for a good mother and appeared to watch the puppies with resentment. The Grants could tell she was in a bad mood, and they started to grow concerned.
Considering Miss Kitty’s past, they hoped that she wouldn’t return to her gloomy mood from before. They liked that she got along with Smoochie and hoped this wouldn’t end their friendship. But it wasn’t long before their worry bubbled over into full-blown fear.
