If you’ve been on the hunt for the best Black Friday gaming deals, here’s a big one: Microsoft is dropping the price of the Xbox Series S for the holidays, offering it for only $250. This is $50 cheaper than its regular price of $300. It also comes in a special holiday-themed box, covered in stars and presents.

Unlike previous sales we’ve seen this year, this $50 discount is coming straight from Microsoft. That means that you’ll be able to buy the Xbox Series S at a discount from Microsoft’s official online store, but also third-party retailers like Best Buy and Target.

Target in particular is offering a fantastic bundle that gets you the Xbox Series S for $250, along with a $50 Target gift card included at no extra cost. That’s $100 of free value that’s useful for games, accessories, or Game Pass subscription.

The Xbox Series S is one of Microsoft’s two current generation consoles, along with the Xbox Series X. Both consoles play the exact same games, but there are differences, most notably that the Series S does not include a disc drive so you can only play digitally downloaded titles.

The Xbox Series S is less powerful, has half the storage space, and offers native 1440p gaming, whereas the Xbox Series X can support 4K gaming and has a disc drive that supports 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. The Xbox Series S is ideal for anyone who doesn’t need the highest resolution in their games and those who don’t need a physical disc drive and don’t mind playing digital-only games.
