McDonald’s x Cactus Plant Flea Market
From October 3, McDonald’s will be selling limited-edition Happy Meals for grown-ups.
As well as a Big Mac or box of McNuggets, you get a collectible toy like a Hamburglar or Grimace figurine.
The boxes are designed by Cactus Plant Flea Market, and merch will also be available.
McDonald’s is about to start selling Happy Meals for adults.
From Monday, October 3, you’ll be able to get one of McDonald’s famous meal boxes in a portion fit for grown-ups, with a Big Mac or 10-piece box of McNuggets, complete with fries and a drink.
The burger giant revealed the move in a press release and series of teasing social-media posts on Tuesday.
You’ll be able to order the limited-edition box in-restaurant, at the drive-thru, for delivery, or on the McDonald’s app.
McDonald’s has been on a social-media purge, deleting all its Instagram posts and replacing them with two uploaded this week announcing the launch date for the new Happy Meal and showing pictures of the four collectible mascots up for grabs.
Three are based on returning McDonald’s characters – the Hamburglar, Grimace, and Birdie – while the fourth is a new one called Cactus Buddy.
The fast-food chain hasn’t yet said how much the meals will cost, but it’s likely the price will vary between markets. For the Happy Meals currently available, McDonald’s charges more for ones that come with hamburgers than those with nuggets.

The Happy Meals are a collaboration with streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market, which McDonald’s called “one of the most important brands in culture.”
The box features McDonald’s iconic bright yellow and red color scheme, as well as pops of other bold colors. Alongside the four mascots available as toys, drawings on the box include other famous McDonald’s characters such as Ronald McDonald, Mayor McCheese, Captain Crook, and Officer Big Mac — all inexplicably with two sets of eyes.
The box also features drawings showing a McDonald’s restaurant and the four different shapes of McNugget, plus text reading “we ❤️ 2 c u.”
“90s childhood on acid,” one person commented on Instagram, with another likening the visuals to the dreamcore aesthetic.
“We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans,” Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA chief marketing and customer experience officer, said in the press release, describing the collaboration as “a unique piece of art and culture.”
“This is another way we’re reigniting a new generation’s love for our food and the brand,” he added.

People who buy the Happy Meal on the McDonald’s App will automatically be entered into a weekly prize draw to win merchandise, though you can also enter without buying anything. McDonald’s will be giving away just under $40,000 of merchandise over the course of October to 362 winners, including T-shirts, hoodies, and 10 “adult-sized, Grimace-inspired” chairs each worth $599.
You’ll also be able to buy merchandise online from October 3.
Cactus Plant Flea Market currently appears to only have four products available on its website – a $70 T-shirt, a $75 towel, a $35 water bottle, and a $60 pair of boxers.
As well as McDonald’s, it has also previously collaborated with Nike on Swarovski-encrusted sneakers and some furry green shoes that look almost Grinch-inspired.
