Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are finding new ground together again, with the release of Henry Selick’s upcoming Netflix movie Wendell and Wild.
The animated film, also produced by Peele, sees the two actors starring as brothers — who happen to be scheming demons. It’s steeped in spookiness: from the get-go, the trailer features haunted, broken houses, shadow-like figures, and Coraline-esque animation (which is expected from Selick, who directed it along with The Nightmare Before Christmas, and James and the Giant Peach). The stop-motion aesthetic lends itself well once again, with Wendell and Wild seeming largely bizarre and thrilling.
The cast also includes Lyric Ross, Angela Bassett, James Hong, Tamara Smart, Natalie Martinez, Tantoo Cardinal, Igal Naor, and more.
Wendell and Wild will release on Netflix this October.
