You can also solve puzzles, get gold nuclei, and loot supply pods.

Navigate to the World Exploration Puzzle south of Simple Pier.Defeat the Hyenas near the puzzle.Find the blue object near the Ring Arena.Lift the blue object and proceed to the World Exploration Puzzle.Throw the blue object into the hole.
After you’ve thrown the blue object into the hole, a black nucleus will spawn.
Collect the black nucleus to get Artificial island exploration progress and 1x black nucleus.
