Most cats, especially female cats, can understand what a baby is when they encounter it. If they sense something is threatening to a child, they will protect him or her.
This was the case with the local train station’s resident furry friend, Katie. As soon as she saw the baby in distress, Katie, the cat, knew she had to act. Because she knew she couldn’t leave the child, the idea of running away and charging in the opposite direction never crossed her mind.
