The Steam sales are a great way to blow your hard-earned cash on awesome games you’ve been mulling over purchasing for a while but have been putting off.
Currently, the Steam Survival Fest is running with various discounts on survival games until 8 August. So plenty of opportunities to snap up a bargain.

Subnautica (50 per cent off)
Subnautica is an open-world survival game with a difference as it takes place underwater on an alien world fraught with danger. A beautiful game that’s incredibly popular and highly thought of.
State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition (Save 66 per cent)
The dead have risen and now you have to fight to survive while scavenging for resources and building a community in a harsh world rife with brain eaters.
ARK: Survival Evolved (save 67 per cent)
Ever thought that survival games don’t have enough giant pre-historic monsters? Well then ARK is the game for you. You can even tame yourself a dinosaur if you’re lucky.
Hunt: Showdown (save 50 per cent)
This is an intense tactical PvPvE first-person shooter with an eerie setting in the depths of the Bayou. It’s packed with horrific monsters and other players trying to kill you, plus the added danger of permadeath too.

Something more relaxing? There are no zombies in this one, but you have got to survive the cold. This one promises more of an exploration-based survival experience with an open world to explore and scavenge.

Star Wars: Squadrons (save 75 per cent)
Buckle up for some first-person, multiplayer space dogfights with or without your VR headset. This is a great outing into the Star Wars universe that’s ace for those who have always wanted to pilot a Star Wars craft.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (56 per cent off)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider was the final chapter in Lara Croft’s origin story. A modern reboot that’s rife with wonderful puzzles, brilliantly beautiful tombs and a wild open world to explore.
We loved the game when we reviewed it back in 2018 and it still stands up now, even more so with all the extras included in the definitive edition.
Bomber Crew (80 per cent off)
Bomber Crew, the cute strategic simulation game sends you and your crew on dangerous missions where you need to manage fuel, ammo, hydraulics and more. Bomber Crew is fun because the crew are procedurally generated, including their names, skills and backstories which means you’re going to have a really unique experience.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition (75 per cent off)
We almost gush when we talk about Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It’s an absolutely smashing RPG set in yee olden days where you play a simple son of a blacksmith forced into the midst of raging civil war.
It’s beautiful, immersive, engaging and a whole lot of fun. It’s also hours and hours long and with the Royal Editon you also get all the downloadable content too. At this price, you’d be mad not to grab it.
