The House Ways and Committee obtained Donald Trump’s federal tax returns after a yearslong legal battle.
The Democrat-led panel initially requested his federal income tax returns in 2019 when Trump was still president.
The move came just a week after the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s request to block the panel from receiving the records.
The IRS gave the House Ways and Means Committee received former President Donald Trump’s federal tax returns dating back six years, ending a three-year pursuit by the Democrat-led panel since April 2019.
The move comes just over a week after the Supreme Court dismissed Trump’s emergency request to block House Democrats from receiving the former president’s closely guarded financial records.
“Treasury has complied with last week’s court decision,” a spokesperson for the Treasury Department told NBC News.
