If that eerie dance scene didn’t get your attention, the makers behind M3GAN have given us even more of our future favorite, nightmare doll in the horror movie’s latest trailer.
Following the loss of her parents, nine-year-old Cady (Violet McGraw) finds a new friend in M3gan, an android toy created by her aunt Gemma (Allison Williams). The newly minted parent/toy engineer thinks the M3gan x Cady crossover is going to be a fun, BFF adventure which will lighten the load of newfound parenthood. Alas, Gemma is gravely mistaken, and M3gan is a menace.
Like many robots gone rogue, M3gan overcomes her programming and becomes an autonomous being. Killing everyone that slightly scoffs at her or Cady in the most extravagant way possible.
She backflips and dances through a hall before chasing a helpless guy. She picks up a weapon and shoots a poor old woman in her shack. She squares up against Gemma in a kitchen brawl that’s more like a battle royale. And we are so excited.
M3GAN releases in theaters on Jan. 6, 2023.
