New Yorkers head to the polls in one of the most consequential election seasons the Empire State has had in years.
The state will elect 26 members of Congress, and given the redistricting and highly competitive national election cycle, eight of those races are tight contests that have implications for control of the House of Representatives.
Sen. Chuck Schumer, now Senate majority leader, will face voters, as will Gov. Kathy Hochul, who faces a general election for the first time as governor after replacing Gov. Andrew Cuomo following his resignation.
Voters will also weigh in on Proposal 1, which would take on debt to fund climate projects.
