Amazon Music comes included with any Prime membership for $15/month.
The service’s library has been expanded to over 100 million songs, and you can listen to ad-free podcasts.
Amazon’s step-up Music Unlimited plan still offers better perks, but costs an additional $9 a month.
An Amazon Prime membership is filled with tons of perks for $15/month or $139/year, including free two-day shipping and access to lots of streaming content through services like Amazon Music. Though subscribers already had a decent selection of free songs to listen to, Amazon Music just got a whole lot better.
Amazon has announced that its Prime Music service is now expanding its library to over 100 million songs — a drastic improvement from the original two million songs the service initially offered.
Previously, Prime members had to upgrade to Amazon Music Unlimited for an extra $9/month to unlock access to the platform’s full catalog of songs. Now, Prime subscribers can listen to everything as part of their existing membership. In addition to more songs, Amazon Music also now offers ad-free podcasts, including exclusive shows.
That said, Amazon Music Prime still has some key limitations compared to the more expensive Amazon Music Unlimited plan. Most notably, with Amazon Music Prime you’re limited to listening to most artists and albums in shuffle mode rather than being able to select any song you want on-demand.
Here’s a full breakdown of what Amazon Music Prime does and does not offer following this new update.
