The 30 companies information technology students around the world most want to work for

Sony is one company that IT students from around the world are highly interested in working at, according to results from Universum.

Universum published its annual list of the most attractive employers for IT students.
That’s part of the employer branding expert’s World’s Most Attractive Employers report.
IT students from across nine countries listed the five employers they’re most interested in working at.

Information technology students want to work for tech companies, such as Google and Samsung, but also hope to end up working at places outside tech. That includes consulting company Deloitte and investment banking Goldman Sachs, according to results from Universum.

Universum recently released its annual rankings of ideal employers that different students want to work for, which is part of its World’s Most Attractive Employers report.

To find out where different students hope to work, Universum said that the rankings are based on the “top nine and most significant graduate hiring countries for multinational employers: USA, China, Germany, UK, France, India, Italy, Brazil, Canada. To be considered, companies must be among the top 90% of brands listed in at least four of the nine countries.” Respondents selected their five “ideal employers” or who they “most want to work for.”

“For IT university students, Big Tech dominates the WMAE rankings in 2022,” Stefan Müller-Nedebock of Universum said in a statement. “Universum’s research shows companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft and Amazon offer two critical qualities that students prioritize in a future employer: high performing/entrepreneurial workplaces and companies that offer flexible working options.”

McKinsey & Company placed No. 23 on this year’s IT student list. It also ranked No. 13 on the list based on business student results.

“Our reputation for hiring distinctive people who do work that matters to drive sustainable and inclusive growth, and who have unrivaled opportunities to learn and author their own journey, are what attracts great talent to McKinsey,” Blair Ciesil, global leader of talent attraction at McKinsey, said in a statement. “But what really makes the difference and “seals the deal” are the friendships we make in our caring and inclusive global firm.”
