Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was assaulted at their San Francisco home.
The burglar beat him with a hammer, causing blunt force trauma to his head and body.
The 82-year-old was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police identified the assailant and said he’s in custody.
