Steam sale dates are usually a case of guesswork or conjecture based on previous sale periods.
Recently though, Valve has begun confirming the future dates outright.
Earlier this year the company published the planned Steam sale dates on Steamworks so that publishers and others can access them and plan accordingly. So now we all know when it’s happening and you can get your wallet ready to purchase those games you’ve been holding off on.

According to the official plan the next Steam sale is set to be:
The Steam Scream Fest – 25 October to 1 November
This Steam sale will feature discounts and demos on current and upcoming games as well as specials event too.
Valve also says that it will have special in-game events in the spirit of Halloween as well. So eligible games may well have some interesting happenings. If you’re into horror games, then check your favourites out during the sale period for more fun.
As usual, we’re expecting to see the Steam Store being gamified during the sale period too. With animated backgrounds, mini-profiles, avatars and more available in exchange for points and mini-games to keep you checking back for more. So ready your wallet for some spending.
