On a recent visit to London, I took advantage of the Amex Platinum Concierge to help arrange my trip.
The American Express Travel team was able to secure tickets to exclusive events, like Wimbledon and BST Hyde Park.
I also saved money on my flights and gained extra perks at my hotel by booking with Amex.

I’ve had The Platinum Card® from American Express for over two years now. However, when planning my recent trip to London, I finally decided to take advantage of the American Express Platinum Concierge service.
By using the service, I was able to secure exclusive tickets to events in London, save over $2,000 on my business class flights, earn Amex points for future trips, and gain perks at my hotel that I wouldn’t have otherwise gotten if I booked alone.
The Platinum Concierge service was a one-stop shop for booking my trip. When I called, I was connected to the team of American Express Travel consultants who helped me arrange my entire vacation from start to finish.
Here’s why using the Amex Platinum Concierge was worth it.
We’re focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won’t be worth it if you’re paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it’s important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.
The Amex Platinum Concierge made trip planning easy and saved me money
The original call to the Amex Platinum Concierge was extensive and they asked about all my preferences, which allowed them to cater the experience to what worked best for me. We spoke about what events I was looking to book, where I wanted to stay, and how and where I wanted to fly into London.
In regards to the flight booking, they asked me my preferred airline, flight times, and airport preferences. In addition, I was able to save over $2,000 on my United Airlines business class flights since they used the International Airline Program and the Insider Fares tool.
The hotel booking involved questions on my preferred hotel experience, including whether or not I wanted a hotel chain or local experience, along with my neighborhood preferences. Personally, I opted for a hotel brand that I’ve stayed with before, The London Edition.
Since the American Express Travel consultants booked it, I received benefits like a room upgrade, a $100 experience credit, early check-in and late checkout, and complimentary breakfast through the Fine Hotels and Resorts Program**. I’ll also receive a $200 statement credit on my card thanks to the Amex Platinum’s annual hotel credit.
Along with a substantial welcome bonus offer of The Platinum Card® from American Express, the The Platinum Card® from American Express comes with a wide array of benefits and credits that can save you money and make paying the The Platinum Card® from American Express annual fee well worth it. Here’s Insider’s Amex Platinum review for the full rundown.
During my stay, I was interested in getting tickets to Wimbledon and Adele at BST Hyde Park. The American Express Travel consultants were able to secure my tickets to both and provide me access to the American Express Experiences on-site, including the Card Member Lounge, along with mezzanine floor access at BST Hyde Park which included amazing views over the Great Oak Stage.
For the events, the American Express travel team also booked me transportation to and from my hotel to make it easier to get there.
With the The Platinum Card® from American Express, I was also able to access American Express lounges at both airports on my trip, which is a perk I often utilize when traveling.
How to use the American Express Platinum Concierge
To use the Amex Platinum Concierge, you call the number on the back of your The Platinum Card® from American Express. You’ll be connected to the team who will then connect you with American Express Travel consultants. After a conversation with them about your preferences, they’ll get to work on planning your trip.
They will give you a time range and you’ll hear from them via email or a phone call to further plan the trip. When everything is finalized, they’ll use your The Platinum Card® from American Express (with your permission, of course!) to book everything and send over all the confirmations via email.
Personally, I didn’t find any downsides to using the service. The team was super receptive to my needs and worked with my specifications for everything, ranging from the hotel to the activities I wanted to do. I’ll absolutely use the Amex Platinum Concierge on future trips — especially because it made everything so seamless.
